Who ordered this snow?




Woke up this morning to 3 inches of snow! Just when we thought spring had arrived.



Well technically, it is still "March". Maybe tomorrow we will be trading in the snow for rain.

Planting the seeds



Yesterday marked "day one" of our garden. We planted the seeds for all of the plants (flowers and veggies) that we will sow in the ground in late May.
We are using three "Greenhouse Germinadors". The seeds we planted were as follows:
Box A
  • Row 1 = Basil

  • Row 2 = Basil

  • Row 3 = Basil

  • Row 4 = Campanula - Meteroa & Delphinum Duet

  • Row 5 = Campanula - Canterbury Bells

  • Row 6 = Delphinium - Mexicalli

Box B
  • Row 1 = Delphinium Duet

  • Row 2 = Forget-Me-Nots

  • Row 3 = Forget-Me-Nots

  • Row 4 = Foxglove

  • Row 5 = Foxglove

  • Row 6 = Foxglove

Box C
  • Row 1 = Lavender - Verea

  • Row 2 = Lavender - Lady

  • Row 3 = Lavender - Angust

  • Row 3 = Lavender - Angust

Planning the garden




Just spent the last week planning my new garden.

We recently moved from Tempe, AZ to Providence, UT. We bought a house with a large backyard. Since all it has is a couple of raspberry bushes... it's a blank slate.

This will be my very first garden. I am planning to have a large portion of it to serve as a flower garden. The garden will be in an "L shape" with the following dimensions: 30' x 30' (10 feet deep). The majority of flowers will be perrenials. The color scheme I went with with is: pinks & purple.

In addition, a portion of the
backyard will also be used for: veggies, grapes, and fruit trees.
